Within the scope of the Lake-Water Project, Mamak Pond, whose foundation was laid on August 2, 2013, was completed and delivered by Sertka Group in 2014. Mamak Pond, whose water retention process was started in 2014, is of concrete-weighted filling type, with a body volume of 25,000 m³ and a storage volume of 305,000 m³. The body height of the pond is 22.50 m from the thalweg, 31.20 m from the foundation, and its crest length is 125 m. Apart from the irrigation purpose of the General Eşref Akıncı Barracks, the project will also serve the purpose of protecting the residential areas of the Mamak District, located downstream, from flooding.
